Imagine… Six months ago, we wrote our very first grant and dared to dream that it would be funded. And on Friday, 13th August 2025, that dream became a reality. The Rotary Club of Garuga received a $10,000 grant from Malaria Partners International to bring this project to life, marking the first grant in our club’s history. We proudly launched it at Nalugala Health Centre II in Garuga.
The Media Launch was a milestone not just for our club but for the community we serve. The event brought together club members, health officials, media representatives, and local community leaders, all united by the shared goal of reducing malaria and improving health outcomes.
During the launch, RC Garuga shared how the grant will strengthen local malaria prevention efforts. Community health education, awareness campaigns, and targeted interventions were highlighted as key steps to ensure families and children live free from the fear of malaria. The event emphasized the power of collaboration, with Rotary, Malaria Partners International, and local health teams working together to make a real impact.
Speakers reflected on the journey from writing the grant six months ago to today’s celebration. They highlighted the hope, planning, and dedication that went into the project, showing how this initiative represents more than just funding—it is a commitment to saving lives and building stronger, healthier communities.
The launch also provided the community with an opportunity to engage, ask questions, and understand how the grant will translate into real-life action, from preventive measures to awareness programs. The energy was infectious, filled with a shared sense of purpose and optimism about the future.
This historic event marks the beginning of a transformative journey for RC Garuga and the communities it serves. From an idea six months ago to its launch on August 13, 2025, the club has demonstrated that with vision, dedication, and partnership, even a small step can create a significant impact.
