On 1st August 2025, the Rotary Club of Garuga welcomed AG Joseph Kirimanyi for an official visit that blended mentorship, motivation, and a call to action. The fellowship was not just a meeting—it was a poignant reminder of the high standards that Rotary sets for leadership, engagement, and community impact.
Attendance was 52%, reflecting a solid turnout despite members’ busy schedules. The home hospitality, hosted by the Action President and supported by the Bukaaya Buddy Group, provided a warm and welcoming environment, reinforcing the fellowship spirit that is the backbone of Rotary. Special recognition was given to members who contributed to the successful hosting of the AG, highlighting the importance of teamwork and collaboration.
AG Kirimanyi’s message was clear and challenging. He emphasized Rotary International’s goals, reminding members that their actions at the local level are integral to the broader vision of service above self. “Visibility matters,” he noted, “because the world can only appreciate our impact when it is seen. Every project, every initiative, every Rotarian counts in showing Rotary’s relevance in the community.”
Beyond visibility, the AG stressed accountability and active participation. Members were encouraged to take ownership of their responsibilities, ensure consistent attendance, and actively engage in club initiatives. The guidance was both practical and motivational, inspiring Rotarians to not only meet but also exceed targets in preparation for the District Governor’s official visit on August 29th.
The fellowship also served as a platform for leadership insights. AG Kirimanyi shared personal experiences, illustrating how mentorship and structured guidance can transform a club’s culture, strengthen member engagement, and amplify the impact of projects. Members left the session with renewed energy, inspired to implement lessons learned, and more committed to achieving tangible results in their community projects.
RC Garuga’s interaction with AG Kirimanyi reinforced a vital truth: leadership is not merely about holding a title—it is about taking action, being accountable, and inspiring others to follow suit. The visit strengthened the club’s resolve to raise the bar in all areas of service, ensuring that every Rotarian contributes meaningfully to the club’s vision of uniting for good, one act at a time. The use of buddy groups has not only deepened RC Garuga’s culture of philanthropy but also shown that adaptability fuels impact.
In Garuga, Happy Shilling is proof that when fellowship and generosity collide, the outcome is nothing short of extraordinary.
