A Historic Day for Our Club: The DG’s Official Visit

On November 22, 2024, our club opened its doors to an unforgettable milestone as we hosted the District Governor for her official visit. The day was a testament to our club’s growth, impact, and commitment to service, drawing over 150 Rotarians from across the district.

Excitement filled the air as members and guests arrived, dressed in their finest, ready to witness a day of inspiration and transformation. The event began with warm welcomes, as we reflected on our journey and the strides we have taken in our community.

A highlight of the day was the induction of 10 new members into our ever-growing family. Their energy and enthusiasm infused fresh momentum into our club. But the celebration did not stop there—eight new Paul Harris Fellows were recognized for their unwavering commitment to The Rotary Foundation, and two Major Donors were honored for their extraordinary generosity.

The visit also marked the launch of the second phase of our Kitala Secondary School project, a long-term initiative aimed at transforming education in the community. Taking our commitment to sustainability even further, we proudly established our first Rotary Community Corps (RCC), empowering local leaders to take charge of their own development. To symbolize our dedication to a greener future, we planted trees, leaving behind a legacy of growth and renewal.

As the sun set, members gathered for the Club Assembly, where the District Governor addressed us with words of encouragement and wisdom. She commended our club’s efforts, inspiring us to aim higher and continue making a difference.

The day ended with a renewed sense of purpose, stronger bonds, and a shared vision for the future. It was more than just a visit; it was a celebration of service, impact, and the power of Rotary.
