On 6th June 2025, the Rotary Club of Garuga made history by officially calling the formation of two new Rotary clubs: Rotary Club of SMACK Aggrey Kankunda (in formation) and Rotary Club of Garuga Pearl Marina (in formation).
The colorful gathering took place at the residence of Charter President (CP) Benjamin Bwanika and drew Rotarians and friends from across sponsoring clubs, including the Rotary Clubs of Muyenga Tankhill and Munyonyo Springs. The evening was a blend of fellowship, celebration, and anticipation for the bright future of Rotary in Garuga and beyond.
Presiding over the launch was District Membership Chair (DMC) Annie Ninyesiga, who applauded RC Garuga for its commitment to expanding Rotary’s reach and creating new spaces for service and leadership. She emphasized that forming new clubs is not just about numbers but about extending Rotary’s impact in communities.
Speaking at the event, CP Benjamin Bwanika expressed his gratitude to members and sponsoring clubs for their support and encouragement. He highlighted how the two new clubs will bring fresh energy, diverse leadership, and innovative approaches to service projects in their respective communities.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement as members of the new clubs shared their enthusiasm and readiness to begin their Rotary journey. It was a powerful reminder of the year’s theme, “Unite for Good, Together One Act at a Time.”
With these two clubs in formation, RC Garuga continues to lead the way in strengthening Rotary’s presence and ensuring that more people have the opportunity to connect, serve, and transform lives.
